Thanks to the assistance of the the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team and an alert StoneRidge resident, the Prescott Valley Police Department is pleased to report that Betty J. Salters, the missing 81 year old female from StoneRidge was located at approximately 7:30 this morning. Search teams had worked through the night in attempts to locate Mrs. Salters who wandered away from her home early last night.
Mrs. Salters was found about 100 yards off of Old Black Canyon Highway behind a maintenance yard wall in some high brush.  She was alert and conscious when found and appeared to have suffered some minor injuries from a fall and possibly some hypothermia. Mrs. Salters was transported to YRMC in stable condition.
Jeremy Bofferding, a StoneRidge resident was the person who located Mrs. Salter. Bofferding had received the alert about Mrs. Salters from the Home Owners Association last night and when he heard the search continuing this morning he decided to take his dog Diesel out and see if he could help. Mr. Bofferding came across Mrs. Salter and immediately notified Search and Rescue teams who were searching close by.
The Prescott Valley Police Department would like to thank the YCSO Search and Rescue Teams, the StoneRidge community and Mr. Bofferding for all of the assistance they provided in helping us to bring this incident to a positive conclusion.
