Search Dog Unit

Handlers lead highly trained dogs in scent search operations for tracking a subject; help to establish where a subject has been or is going.  Working with scent articles provided for identification of a subject requires constant training for both the dogs and the handlers.  Training takes place within the unit and with units from other areas and states.

How can I participate?

There is always a need for trained and dedicated volunteers to participate in search and rescue missions.  Specific unit training is required in addition to a 16-hour Basic Search & Rescue Academy given by the Sheriff's Office.
