New Car Swept away during Owner’s Attempt to Cross Stream – Vehicle lost for days and just recently found
On March 31, 2010, at approximately 8:45 A.M., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to assist a citizen whose vehicle had been swept down stream. The location was “Mormon’s Crossing” which intersects with Willow Point Road in Cornville. The 39-year-old Village of Oak Creek resident, Erik Naedler, told deputies his 2010 green Kia Sportage floated away after he attempted to drive through Mormon’s Crossing....
Man Stranded on Cathedral Rock Rescued by Air
March 25, 2010 - On March 24, 2010, at approximately 1:30 P.M., the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office received 911 notification of a man stranded on top of a rock spire in the Cathedral Rock formation outside of Sedona. According to the reporting person, identified as Riad Edwards, 21, of Klackamas, Oregon, he and his dog had been hiking on Cathedral Rock....
Verde River Rafter Lost and Found after Aerial Search
On March 12, 2010, at approximately 6:45 P.M., Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Communications dispatchers received a report from one of four Phoenix residents who had been rafting the Verde River. The group of 4 was floating from Camp Verde to the Sheep Bridge in Bloody Basin. The caller advised that one of the members became separated when he went over the Verde Falls in his inflatable raft. This rafter had not been seen or heard from since 4:00 p.m....
