Backcountry Unit

Serves as a mountain rescue team for the county. The Backcountry Unit has extensive training in tracking, field search, swift water rescue and helicopter operations.  Volunteers from the Backcountry Unit are frequently utilized by the Sheriff's Office as a first-response team.

How can I participate?

There is always a need for trained and dedicated volunteers to participate in search and rescue missions.  Specific unit training is required in addition to a 16 hour Basic Search & Rescue Academy given by the Sheriff's Office.

How can I help?

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Response Team Inc. depends upon continuing donations.  Please consider making a contribution to the Response Team when you support charitable organizations.  As a non-profit organization, your donations to YCSRT are deductible to the extent allowed by the tax code.
